March for Life Announces Speakers for the 47th Annual March for Life

Washington, D. C. – Today, the March for Life Education and Defense Fund announced the first wave of speakers for the 47th annual March for Life on January 24th, 2020. State Representative Katrina Jackson (D-LA), Representative Ann Wagner (R-MO), Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ), along with Melissa Ohden and Claire Culwell, both abortion survivors, will speak at the 2020 Rally. Democratic State Representative Katrina Jackson introduced Louisiana’s law which would require abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at a hospital within a 30 mile radius of their clinic. This law is currently at the Supreme Court. Representatives Wagner and Smith sponsored the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act which provides protection under the law for babies who survive failed abortions, like Melissa Ohden and Claire Culwell. The theme for this year’s March for Life is Life Empowers: Pro-Life is Pro-Woman.

“We are delighted to welcome to the world’s largest annual human rights demonstration this inspiring group of speakers who are all working ardently to promote the inherent dignity of the human person,” said Jeanne Mancini, president of March for Life. “Protecting babies who are born alive after a failed abortion or requiring abortion doctors to hold admitting privileges at a local hospital are common sense, bi-partisan policies with the full support of the majority of Americans,” she continued.

March for Life Rally Friday, January 24, 2020 12:00pm – 1:00pm ET
Speakers include:
Representative Ann Wagner (R-MO)
State Representative Katrina Jackson (D-LA)
Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ)
Melissa Ohden, survivor of a failed saline infusion abortion
Claire Culwell, survivor of a failed surgical abortion

The 47th annual March for Life, the world’s largest annual human rights demonstration, will be held on January 24, 2020. Leading up to the March for Life and throughout 2020, the March for Life will share more about the theme Life Empowers: Pro-Life is Pro-Woman and the incredible history of the women who pioneered the women’s rights movement and their pro-life beliefs.

March for Life Statement on Virginia 2020 Election Results

“The election results in Virginia are disappointing for those who value life. Earlier this year, Governor Northam and Delegate Tran made it clear where they would like to see Virginia in terms of abortion policy, that is allowing abortion up until birth and, as Northam explained, maybe even after birth. While pro-life Virginians rose up to defeat the Tran abortion extremism in committee and to condemn infanticide earlier this year, pro-abortion candidates in the state were helped by a $1.2 million PAC gift from New York billionaire George Soros, including a $350,000 check to Planned Parenthood Virginia. With 2020 around the corner, it’s an opportunity for the pro-life community to again come together to reject abortion extremism during the legislative session.”

Announcing the 2020 Rose Dinner Speaker and Guest of Honor

March for Life is excited to announce Sister Bethany Madonna as our 2020 Rose Dinner Keynote speaker

Sister Bethany Madonna entered the Sisters of Life in 2007. While attending the University of Central Florida, she had a profound encounter with the Lord, which drew her heart toward the vulnerable unborn and their mothers. After her graduation in 2006, she worked for the Respect Life Office for the Diocese of Orlando before joining her religious community. She made her final vows in 2015 and currently lives at the community’s Motherhouse, serving as the Vocation Director. She loves sharing the message of life and love.

March for Life is honored to announce Dr. William Hogan as our Guest of Honor and the recipient of the inaugural Pro-Life Legacy Award

Dr. Bill Hogan began his medical career as an OBGYN in the 1960s, placing the loving care for expectant mothers and babies at the heart of everything he did, both inside and out of his practice. From serving women with crisis pregnancies in his medical practice to defending the Human Life Amendment before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Dr. Hogan has fully exemplified the spirit of the pro-life movement. For this reason, the March for Life is honored to present Dr. William Hogan with the inaugural Pro-Life Legacy Award.
