Exposing Planned Parenthood

July 22, 2015 By Jeanne Mancini 1 Comment

Exposing Planned Parenthood

As more videos continue to surface that expose Planned Parenthood’s egregious organ harvesting practices and blatant disregard for the dignity of the human person the time is now for Congress to stop using taxpayer funds to support the organization. Congress should divest from the organization at all levels of government and lead an investigation into the organization’s horrific practices.

M4L-Meme2The release of videos by the Center for Medical Progress has continued to expose the true practices of Planned Parenthood, along with their complete disrespect for and undignified treatment of human life. The practice of harvesting and selling baby parts is nauseating and illegal. No American should be forced to participate in this unsettling practice through taxpayer funding.

Americans are disgusted by what they’ve witnessed on these videos. Congress, state legislatures and city governments must act to bring to an end all federal funding of Planned Parenthood.

Thankfully, in addition to the waves of public outcry on social media this week, there are members of Congress who are speaking out as well. On July 21, Representative Sean Duffy hosted a special order about Planned Parenthood’s atrocities. Please take a few moments to watch some of these speeches and thank these members for their words and action.

Congress must Defund Planned Parenthood

New Video Proves Investigations into the Misuse of Taxpayer Money Necessary, But Not Enough

Washington, D.C – As more videos continue to surface that expose Planned Parenthood’s egregious organ harvesting practices and blatant disregard for the dignity of the human person the time is now for Congress to stop using taxpayer funds to support the organization.  Jeanne Mancini, President of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, is calling on Congress to divest from the organization at all levels of government and to lead an investigation into the organization’s horrific practices.

“The release of videos by the Center for Medical Progress has continued to expose the true practices of Planned Parenthood, along with their complete disrespect for and undignified treatment of human life. The practice of harvesting and selling baby parts is nauseating and illegal. No American should be forced to participate in this unsettling practice through taxpayer funding.”

A new undercover video released Tuesday by the Center for Medical Progress shows a Planned Parenthood executive discussing possible prices for intact fetal specimens. In the video, actors posing as buyers ask Dr. Mary Gatter, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Medical Directors’ Council, what she would expect for intact tissue. The new video comes on the heels of a recent one that CMP released in which Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical services, describes over lunch how she conducts abortions to preserve fetal organs like the heart, lungs and liver. That video has generated a torrent of criticism from pro-life lawmakers, who are calling for an investigation into the practices.

“Americans are disgusted by what they’ve witnessed on these videos. Congress, state legislatures and city governments must act to bring to an end all federal funding of Planned Parenthood,” Mrs. Mancini added.

Planned Parenthood commits close to 330,000 abortions every year. In their 2013-2014 report Planned Parenthood stated their total revenue was over $1.3 billion.  46 percent of that revenue came from federal, state and city governments.  Though they claim non-profit status they made a profit of $127.1 million during that same period, some of which was profit from trafficking of organs of unborn babies.

The March for Life in Washington, D.C., began as a small demonstration on January 22, 1974, the first anniversary of the now-infamous Supreme Court decisions in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton and rapidly grew to be the largest pro-life event in the world.  The peaceful demonstration that has followed on this somber anniversary every year since is a witness to the truth concerning the greatest human rights violation of our time, abortion.

Jeanne Mancini, President of March for Life Education and Defense Fund, is available for interviews. For more information or to schedule an interview, please contact Ryan Hughes at RHughes@SBPublicAffairs.com or (703) 739-5920.

9 Easy Steps to Help Women in Need in Your Neighborhood

Earlier this month, Major League Baseball hosted its annual all-star game, where the League’s best players faced off in a friendly match to highlight the talent and contributions of the all-stars. Thinking about the all-stars or the MVPs of the pro-life movement, the Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRCs) across the country come immediately to mind.

IMG_1539PRCs have helped millions of women and babies over the years by supporting women facing unexpected pregnancies, and empowering these women to choose life by providing love, care, support, and material resources. PRCs often provide parenting classes, baby clothes, and sometimes even temporary housing for parents who bravely choose life. But as a 99% volunteer-led movement, PRCs are only able to do their good work when they have generous pro-life advocates supporting and even stocking their local centers with necessary supplies. Here’s where you come in.

Are you wondering how you can make a difference in your neighborhood by helping moms and babies? Take the March for Life’s July Give Life Challenge, and host a baby shower for your local PRC!

We have provided step-by-step instructions/suggestions on how to host a shower for your local PRC:

  1. Contact your local PRC and determine if they have any specific needs.
  2. Gather a group of friends to assist with the Baby Shower.
  3. Determine a location, perhaps a local church, community center, your home, or even the PRC you will be supporting.
  4. Gather your gifts – from diapers to gently-used baby clothes. You could even find a local business who could support a more expensive gift such as a crib or car seat.
  5. Invite friends, neighbors, and anyone who wants to help women and babies! If you work closely with the PRC, you may even invite some of the women they are serving.
  6. Prepare some simple decorations and treats to make a memorable experience. Check out our PRC Baby Shower Pinterest Board for ideas!
  7. Throw your shower! Be sure to share with your guests about the important work the PRC is doing in your community.
  8. Deliver all the gifts and resources to your PRC.
  9. Share your experience on social media, and encourage others to do the same!

IMG_1538Baby showers are a great way to bring your local pro-life community together for a fun event, and support your local PRC (and local moms facing unexpected pregnancies) at the same time. These showers additionally help to spread the word about your local PRC’s work to friends and neighbors.

You can also get ideas from Live Action’s list of “10 helpful ways to support a Pregnancy Resource Center” and the Pregnant on Campus Initiative by Students for Life on how to arrange a baby item drive outside a local Target or Wal-Mart.

In light of the information that we continue to learn about Planned Parenthood’s deceptive and destructive practices, supporting your local PRC is critically important. For more information on our July Give Life Challenge and for PRC resources, click HERE.

As always we would love to hear your stories! Please share your experience on social media or let us know if you would be willing to author a guest blog post about your experience. Helping your local PRC will go a long way to assist and share love with women and babies in your community, as well  build a local culture of life.

Better for Baby: Life-Affirming Ad from Pampers

Pampers recently released a video, called “Hush Little Baby”, and it is sure to make everyone smile!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3ay0Oysrlc

This life-affirming video beautifully displays how babies bring out the best in us. The lullaby ends with “Hush hush now you know it’s true, there is nothing we wouldn’t do.”

It’s encouraging to see an ad campaign that embraces, honors, and values babies, and portrays the nobility of parenthood! It is in stark contrast to the pro-abortion mentality that it should be legal to abort a child up until birth.

What things can we do to make life #betterforbaby? We encourage you to head to Twitter or Facebook, share this video, and spark a thoughtful conversation with your friends!
