March for Life Statement on Biden Administration’s Removal of Medical Oversight of Abortion Pill

With this action, the Biden administration has made it clear that it will prioritize abortion over women’s safety. Allowing unsupervised chemical abortions via telemedicine, without requiring timely access to medical care, will put women in grave danger. Data released in 2018 by the FDA shows thousands of adverse events caused by abortion pills, including 768 hospitalizations and 24 deaths since 2000. Chemical abortions should have more medical oversight not less.”

National March for Life Partners with Midwest March or Life to Host Jefferson City, MO Pro-Life Event

~Jeanne Mancini, president of March for Life~

JEFFERSON CITY, MO –March for Life is honored to partner with local pro-life organizers to host the official Midwest March for Life happening on April 14th, 2021 in Jefferson City, Missouri. Marchers will rally at the state capitol to call for an end to abortion in the state.

“March for Life is excited to help with and be present at the 2021 Midwest March for Life,” said Jeanne Mancini, president of March for Life. “This is such a great opportunity for Missourians to advance the progress they have already made towards protecting women and unborn children. Encouraging lawmakers at the local level to craft policies that respect the dignity of every human life is one of the most effective means of building a culture of life.”

Kathy Forck, organizer of the Midwest March for Life, said, “Pro-lifers in Missouri are ready to march for life! Missourians have worked so hard to offer life-affirming options to pregnant women. We have been doing our best to hold the line here in Missouri and keep moms and babies safe from abortion; in Missouri, abortions have decreased from a high of over 11,000 to a low of 39 abortions in 2020. We can’t wait to share the beauty of our State Capitol and the beauty of the Missouri citizens who are all in for Life!”

The March for Life Announces New Chairman of the Board

Washington, D.C. – March for Life Education & Defense Fund is pleased to announce Tim Saccoccia as the new Chairman of the Board. Saccoccia’s expertise, experience, and personal commitment to the mission of the March for Life will serve him well in this new position. “It is with great joy that we welcome Tim Saccoccia as the new Chairman of the Board at the March for Life,” said Jeanne Mancini, president of March for Life. “His work as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the March for Life and his nearly decade of experience as Senior Policy Director for the Knights of Columbus makes him a perfect fit for the position. I look forward to continuing to work closely with Tim to foster a culture of life and build a world where abortion is unthinkable.”

“The cause of life is so important today when so many are denied that foundational right before they are born,” said Saccoccia. “I look forward to advancing this cause in my new leadership role. The March for Life and its mission occupies a special place in the movement to protect the unborn and I am proud to continue to serve this organization.”

Saccoccia succeeds outgoing chairman Patrick Kelly, who was recently named Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus.

“The March for Life also sincerely thanks Patrick Kelly, the outgoing Chairman of the Board, for his 10 years of service to the March for Life, including over eight years as Chairman,“ Mancini said. “He has our deep gratitude for his model leadership and advocacy for the unborn throughout his tenure,” said Mancini.

Kelly lauded the decision as well, “As I assume the demanding duties related to my new role as Supreme Knight, it is an immense comfort to know that leadership of the March for Life Board and the great cause it represents will be placed in the extremely capable and dedicated hands of Tim Saccoccia.”

Saccoccia brings years of public policy and government relations experience from his role as Senior Policy Director for the Knights of Columbus, the world’s largest lay Catholic family organization with more than 2 million members. In this capacity, Saccoccia is the principal representative of the Knights of Columbus in Washington and has responsibility for representing the Order before Congress, the administration, and state governments on issues related to the sanctity of life, religious liberty, and health care, among others. As Senior Policy Director, Saccoccia has planned and executed successful grassroots campaigns against anti-life initiatives at the state and federal levels.

Saccoccia has been a member of the March for Life Board since 2011 and its Secretary since 2015.  He also sits on the board of March for Life Action. Saccoccia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Political Communication from The George Washington University School of Media and Public Affairs.

March for Life Statement on the Confirmation of Xaxier Becerra as Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services

The confirmation of Xavier Becerra as Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services is alarming given the fact that he has spent his career expanding pro-abortion policies and persecuting pro-life groups and individuals. He has utilized his power as Attorney General of California to punish groups like the Little Sisters of the Poor for their faith as well as the journalists who exposed Planned Parenthood’s trafficking in baby body parts. If his record is any indication, Becerra will weaponize the more than trillion-dollar budget of the Department of Health and Human Services to attack or disadvantage those with whom he disagrees, and advance unpopular pro-abortion policies. Pro-life Americans will be keeping a close eye on Becerra’s agenda and will continue to speak out in defense of women and the unborn.”

March for Life Statement on the Nomination of Xavier Becerra as Head of the Department of Health and Human Services

During his time in public office, Xavier Becerra has displayed a vindictiveness towards those who protect the unborn as well as a disregard for actual healthcare. He has a record of using his position to aggressively attack pro-life institutions and individuals, and clearly has no qualms about wielding his political power to promote taxpayer-funded abortions on demand up until birth – something with which the majority of Americans disagree. Confirming this nominee to lead the Department of Health and Human Services will only further divide America. Americans deserve a well-qualified professional with real medical experience at the helm of HHS, not a puppet for big abortion.”
