By eliminating the Helms Amendment, Democrats are attempting to impose an unwanted abortion imperialism on both taxpayers and developing nations, many of which have pro-life laws. Marist polling shows that Americans overwhelmingly oppose the international funding of abortion –77%, including most Democrats, support such restrictions on foreign aid. Abortion is not development assistance and American taxpayers should not be forced to fund the abortion industry, either at home or abroad.”

March for Life Files Amicus Curiae Preceding Dobbs Supreme Court Case
Prompted by the Supreme Court’s tragic decision in Roe v. Wade, March for Life was founded to promote the beauty and dignity of every human life by working to make abortion unthinkable. It’s time to change our nation’s chaotic abortion jurisprudence, so that our laws are allowed to catch up with the science and reflect basic compassion. The science today shows that the humanity of a 15-week-old child in the womb is undeniable. Children at that stage have fully formed noses and lips, eyelids and eyebrows; they can suck their thumb, and even feel pain.”

March for Life Statement on AG Fitch Supreme Court Brief Regarding Dobbs
As today’s brief makes clear, updating America’s abortion jurisprudence is necessary and long overdue. The law at issue before the Supreme Court concerns moderate limits on the abortion of a child who has developed past 15 weeks, with a fully formed nose and lips, eyelids and eyebrows – when her humanity is beyond debate. Limiting gruesome late term abortions is compassionate and popular; and the norm in countries that have allowed their laws to catch up with the science. Sadly, right now, the United States is one of only seven countries – including North Korea and China – that allow elective abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy.”

March for Life Statement on SCOTUS hearing Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization
March for Life works for the day when abortion is unthinkable, but currently the United States is one of only seven countries – including China and North Korea – that allows abortions through all nine months of pregnancy. An overwhelming majority of Americans agree that this goes way too far, in fact 70% think abortion should be limited to – at most – the first three months of pregnancy. States should be allowed to craft laws that are in line with both public opinion on this issue as well as basic human compassion, instead of the extreme policy that Roe imposed.”

March for Life Statement on Biden Administration’s Proposed Title X Rules
March for Life is strongly opposed to the Biden administration’s proposed Title X rules, which appear specifically designed to bring America’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, back into the taxpayer-funded program and keep pro-life organizations out. These rules would mandate abortion referrals in violation of federal law and stand in direct opposition to the wishes of a majority of Americans who do not want their taxpayer dollars subsidizing the abortion industry. Abortion is neither healthcare nor family planning, and the Title X program should not be funding it.”
