World Renowned Christian Artist Matt Maher Leads Outstanding Group Participating in March for Life
Young People, Women’s Health Organizations, and Latino Groups Join Wednesday, January 22 Event in Washington
Washington, DC – Christian singer and songwriter Matt Maher will share his talents with the hundreds of thousands of expected participants at the 41st annual March for Life on Wednesday, January 22nd. Maher will provide music before the Rally on the Mall and the finale as the March begins.
“Matt is undoubtedly a world class performer, and we are pleased he can join us this year at the March,” said Jeanne Monahan, President of March for Life. “Matt has such a beautiful way of sharing the pro-life message, and has done so at the Youth Mass and other March activities in years past.” Maher says he is grateful for the opportunity to write songs that somehow help people along the way.
The issue of life is one that affects every demographic of American society. The speakers at the March come from various backgrounds, and represent many different organizations. Giovanna Romero of Latinas por la Vida, Nicole Peck of Silent No More, and Youth Speaker Molly Anne Dutton will all be featured speakers at the event that marks the legalization of abortion in 1973.
“The March for Life is blessed to have such a powerful group of speakers at the rally this year, with compelling stories of support for the dignity of all human beings from birth until natural death” says Monahan.
The theme of this year’s event is adoption. “Adoption is a heroic decision for pregnant mothers who find themselves in a difficult situation,” says Monahan. “We want to eliminate the stigma of adoption and encourage women to pursue this noble option.”
This year will mark the 41st March for Life in Washington, D.C. Hundreds of thousands of people participated in the March in 2013, and crowds are expected to keep growing as young people from around the country participate. The annual event begins with the rally on the National Mall at noon, followed by the March to the Supreme Court.
The March for Life in Washington, D.C., began as a small demonstration and rapidly grew to be the largest pro-life event in the world. The peaceful demonstration that has followed on this somber anniversary every year since 1973 is a witness to the truth concerning the greatest human rights violation of our time, legalized abortion on demand.
