Across the country, Americans are being pressured by the government to violate their consciences when it comes to abortion.

On Wednesday, July 13, the House of Representatives will vote on a critically important piece of legislation, the Conscience Protection Act, which would protect the rights of health care entities that do not participate in abortion.

The Conscience Protection Act is desperately needed. For example, the state of California has ordered almost all health coverage statewide – even coverage provided by churches and other religious organizations – to include abortion coverage.

No American should be forced to participate in an abortion. Freedom of conscience is the cornerstone of our Constitution. The Conscience Protection Act will strengthen that right for health care providers who object to participating in the brutal act of abortion, in any form.
