Pitts to Receive March For Life Achievement Award at 34th Annual Rose Dinner

Washington, D.C. — The March for Life 2016 is fast approaching, and the March For Life Education & Defense Fund will be pleased to award Congressman Joe Pitts (R-PA) with the inaugural March for Life Achievement Award at the 34th annual Rose Dinner on January 22nd.

Congressman Joe Pitts (R-PA) will be retiring after twenty years serving his district and the country.  Congressman Pitts has been an example for all Members of Congress as a staunch pro-life leader, willing to work quietly behind the scenes in addition to courageously leading the way publicly.  Jeanne Mancini, President of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, praised the congressman.

“We are pleased and honored to present the March for Life Achievement Award to Congressman Joe Pitts,” said Mrs. Mancini. “The pro-life movement will be losing a true leader in Congress with the retirement of Congressman Pitts. We praise his Leadership as head of the Values Action Team, a coalition of pro-family Members, and as Chair of the Health Subcommittee in Energy and Commerce. We are also deeply grateful for the example he has set for other Members of Congress in approaching his position with courage and humility.”

The March for Life in Washington, D.C., began as a small demonstration on January 22, 1974, the first anniversary of the now-infamous Supreme Court decisions in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton and rapidly grew to be the largest pro-life event in the world.  The peaceful demonstration that has followed on this somber anniversary every year since is a witness to the truth concerning the greatest human rights violation of our time, abortion.

Pro-Life Businesswoman Exemplifies Theme of This Year’s March

Washington, D.C. — The March for Life 2016 is fast approaching, and the theme of this year’s march will be “Pro-Life and Pro-Woman Go Hand-In-Hand.” To highlight this theme, the March For Life Education & Defense Fund is pleased to announce that businesswoman and pro-life advocate Carly Fiorina will speak at this year’s March for Life Rally on Capitol Hill, which will be held on January 22, 2016 at 12:00 PM ET.

When Carly Fiorina was hired as Hewlett-Packard’s CEO, she was the first woman to take control of a Fortune 100 company. Since then, she has spearheaded the Unlocking Potential PAC, which advanced the pro-life movement through messaging for women and the American Conservative Union, whose mission includes protecting all lives, especially the unborn. Carly Fiorina has a national platform and has advocated for pro-life movement, including participating in March for Life Events such as the “Welcoming Every Life” speech and panel discussion last year.

“Carly Fiorina will be among many inspiring women who can share their testimony as female advocates of pro-life issues,” said Jeanne Mancini, President of the March for Life Education & Defense Fund. “Her national profile and work in the pro-life movement embody this year’s theme. Other pro-life female speakers  include Sue Ellen Browder, author of Subverted and Dr. Margarite Duane, MD, alongside Sen. Joni Ernst and Marjorie Dannenfelser who will introduce a video created to inspire young pro-life women to consider running for elected office. “

Decision to Fund Planned Parenthood Shows Where President’s Priorities Lie

Washington, D.C. — President Obama has vetoed a bill to reduce taxpayer support of the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood.

“President Barack Obama’s decision to continue using taxpayer money to fund the abortion industry through a stroke of his pen speaks directly to his administration’s priorities on life and the unborn. Language in the bill would have allowed for continued funding for Planned Parenthood if the organization stopped providing abortion. By vetoing this bill, the President’s choice for abortion is loud and clear, perhaps more than ever before.” said Jeanne Mancini, President of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund. “We applauded the United States Congress for passing this bill to defund Planned Parenthood, thereby placing it on the President’s desk. We now ardently encourage Congress to vote on an override to the President’s veto.”

The March for Life in Washington, D.C., began as a small demonstration on January 22, 1974, the first anniversary of the now-infamous Supreme Court decisions in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Decision to Fund Abortion Giant Now In President’s Hands

Washington, D.C. — The March for Life Education and Defense Fund today applauded the United States Congress for voting to defund Planned Parenthood, placing the bill on the President’s desk. With the decision to pass or veto the bill in the President’s hands, Planned Parenthood Federation of America faces an important decision: if the organization agrees to stop practicing abortion, which it claims is not its primary focus, the group can still receive federal tax dollars.

“We applaud the United States Congress for putting the bill to defund Planned Parenthood on the President’s desk,” said Jeanne Mancini, President of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund. “The decision to continue using taxpayer money to fund the abortion industry now rests with President Barack Obama and Planned Parenthood. Additionally, this bill would allow for the continued funding of the organization if they agree stop the practice of aborting unborn babies. Planned Parenthood claims that abortion is a secondary focus of the group. Americans will now see where their priorities lie.”

The March for Life in Washington, D.C., began as a small demonstration on January 22, 1974, the first anniversary of the now-infamous Supreme Court decisions in Roe v. Wade and Doe v.
