MFL Statement on the Trump Administration’s First 100 Days

April 29, 2025 By March for Life

MFL Statement on the Trump Administration’s First 100 Days

As President Trump marks his first 100 days in office, we congratulate him and Vice President Vance on their early successes in advancing the pro-life cause. It was our honor to welcome VP Vance to the March for Life stage in his first public event as Vice President of the United States, as well as to be able to share a video message of encouragement and solidarity with our marchers from President Trump. And we, like millions of other pro-life Americans, were thrilled that the Administration marked the National March for Life with a series of executive actions that protect life. The Administration’s pro-life actions so far include:

-An executive order reaffirming and reinforcing the Hyde amendment that prevents taxpayer funding of abortions

-A Department of Defense memo stopping taxpayer-funded abortions in the military

-Shutting down www.reproductiverights.org, a pro-abortion propaganda site funded with taxpayer dollars

-Pardoning 23 pro-life Americans who were unjustly targeted by the Biden administration

-Reinstatement of the Global Protect Life Rule (also known as The Mexico City Policy) to prevent taxpayer funding of abortions abroad

-Rejoining the Geneva Consensus Declaration to stand in solidarity with other pro-life countries around the world

-Freezing Title X funding to Planned Parenthood clinics

We’re looking forward to much more to come, as President Trump continues to build on his first-term record of the most consequential pro-life presidency in history.

THOUSANDS OF COLORADANS MARCH FOR LIFE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 11, 2025

Pro-Abortion Lawmakers Claim that Forcing Abortion-on-Demand Funded by Taxpayers Will Somehow Save Money

Denver, CO – TODAY March for Life, in partnership with Pro-Life Colorado, is leading a demonstration of thousands in Denver. This, as pro-abortion lawmakers in the state claim that requiring taxpayers to broadly fund abortions through all nine months of pregnancy could be a cost-saver, as opposed to prioritizing comprehensive care for pregnant women and their children in Colorado. March for Life president Jennie Bradley Lichter is leading Coloradans in calling on Governor Jared Polis to veto SB25-183. If signed, this bill would allow as much as $2 million per year of taxpayer money to be spent on elective abortions at places like Planned Parenthood – lining the pockets of the abortion industry and violating the consciences of millions of Colorado taxpayers. This morning she issued the following comment:

“Today’s march uniting swaths of people from across the state is a resounding testament to Life in Colorado. Now more than ever, it’s important for all who care about protecting unborn babies and supporting moms who need a hand to make our voices heard and show that we aren’t deterred or discouraged; we will keep tirelessly and joyfully marching for life in Denver and across the country.”

Dr. Catherine Wheeler, former abortionist and Board Member of Pro-Life Colorado & the American Association of Pro-life OB/GYNs added:

“Pro-Life Colorado and its more than 50 member organizations stand united together for women and families in partnering with the National March for Life today in our beloved state. Every child, planned or unplanned, is beautiful and deserving of love and protection. As a former abortionist who has come to see first-hand that abortion is NOT healthcare, I encourage you to join me in empowering every woman to do what is best for her well-being, and for her child’s. We stand fearless in our efforts today and will continue to work diligently for the change we need to see from lawmakers in Denver, and to advance true, life-affirming care for women and their babies.”

The Colorado March for Life brings together a diverse group of people from the Rocky Mountain State each year. Today’s demonstration is attended by young and old, families, secular people, and religious believers alike. Since the overturn of Roe vs. Wade, which restored the power to protect the unborn to the American people at both the state and federal level, March for Life has organized 30+ demonstrations at state capitols in red and blue states across the country.

In the state of Colorado alone, there are 80+ life-affirming clinics and resource centers aiding women, children, and families, working to provide them with excellent healthcare and provide for their unique material needs.

Speakers at today’s rally include:

– Dr. Marcus Button, board-certified family medicine physician and his wife, Jennifer Button, founders of Button Family Practice

– Jennie Bradley Lichter, president of March for Life

March for Life Leads Rally as Supreme Court Hears Oral Argument in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic

TODAY – Advocates Gather at SCOTUS to Support State Authority in Healthcare Regulations

March for Life Leads Rally as Supreme Court Hears Oral Argument in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 2, 2025

Washington, D.C. – This morning, the March for Life is uniting hundreds of Americans at a rally on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court to advocate for states’ ability to Choose Health, Not Harm for pregnant women and their children. Inside the Court, the Justices will hear oral arguments in Alliance Defending Freedom’s case, Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, in which the Court is considering whether states, specifically South Carolina, can choose to opt out of using taxpayer dollars to fund Planned Parenthood.

“People of all stripes are waking up to the reality that Planned Parenthood is NOT a legitimate healthcare provider,” said Jennie Bradley Lichter, Esq., president of March for Life, “Too many vulnerable women have paid the price as this abortion conglomerate continues to put politics over care for women.

“Today we stand in strong solidarity with South Carolina leaders to affirm their ability to stop the slush fund of taxpayer dollars currently funneled to Planned Parenthood. Instead, this money should be directed to the nearly two-hundred additional health clinics in the state that accept Medicaid and stand ready to provide women with comprehensive, excellent healthcare.”

A recent New York Times report in which more than 50 Planned Parenthood executives and staff from across the country were surveyed revealed:

  • Numerous examples of botched care, including an inability to administer basic STD testing and accidentally placing an IUD in a pregnant woman, killing her child
  •
  • Haphazard operation of facilities led to patients being prepped for the wrong procedure and some were even administered expired pain medication
  •
  • Patients were commonly treated by “undertrained staff members”
  •
  • The organization’s bylaws direct the majority of the hundreds of millions of donations they receive to political campaigns, not medical care
  •

In June of 2018, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster directed the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) to rescind Medicaid funding from abortion facilities, impacting two Planned Parenthood centers. Planned Parenthood sued the SCDHHS, and following litigation in lower courts, the agency’s director Robert Kerr appealed the case to the Supreme Court in June of 2024. Now, the agency’s current director, Eunice Medina is representing the state in this case.

THOUSANDS OF VIRGINIANS MARCH FOR LIFE

Seventh Annual Rally features Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears and other local advocates

Washington, D.C. – Today March for Life, in partnership with The Family Foundation, is leading a demonstration of thousands in Richmond, the Commonwealth’s capital city. Virginians are joined today by Governor Glenn Youngkin and Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears. This year, the march takes place as the Virginia General Assembly is fast-tracking a referendum on abortion for 2026 that would drastically change the Commonwealth’s existing policies on the issue.

“We are thrilled to partner with The Family Foundation of Virginia to host the seventh annual Virginia March for Life,” said March for Life president Jennie Bradley Lichter. “Our goal today is simple: to empower Virginians to work together towards a future that supports every woman and protects every child. The Commonwealth faces a crucial moment that will require those of us who believe that women deserve great healthcare and ample resources, and that babies deserve protection, to make our voices heard – especially as the General Assembly is fast-tracking an extreme “right to abortion” ballot measure that is out of step with the views of commonsense voters in Virginia.”

“At this year’s march, thousands of Virginians will be marching for life and against the extreme and unsafe unlimited abortion amendment, HJ1,” said Victoria Cobb, president of the Family Foundation of Virginia. “This radical measure would strip protections for the unborn and endanger women. Virginians reject this agenda and demand a Commonwealth that values life at every stage.”

The Virginia March for Life brings together a diverse group of Virginians each year. Today, students from Liberty University in Lynchburg carry the banner leading the march, attended by young and old, families, secular people and religious believers alike. Since the overturn of Roe vs. Wade, which restored the power to protect the unborn to the American people at both the state and federal level, March for Life has organized 30+ demonstrations at dozens of state capitols in red and blue states across the country.

In the commonwealth of Virginia alone, there are 300+ free life-affirming clinics and resource centers aiding women, children, and families, working to provide them with excellent healthcare and provide for their unique material needs.

Speakers at today’s rally include:

– Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears, Lieutenant Governor of Virginia

-Erin Getz, senior director of the State March Program, March for Life Education and Defense Fund

-Victoria Cobb, president of the Family Foundation of Virginia

-Most Reverend Barry C. Knestout, Bishop of the Diocese of Richmond

-Pastor Robert Gurley Jr., president of the Frederick Douglass Freedom Alliance of Virginia

-Shawnte Mallory, mother, abuse survivor, and family coach, LABIR Love and Care

-Reverend James Douthwaite, pastor of Saint Athanasius Lutheran Church Missouri Synod

-Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of the Diocese of Arlington

-Delegate Delores Oates, Virginia House of Delegates representing the 31st District
