Celebrating Birth Mothers

May 11, 2018 By Scott Zipperle Leave a Comment

Celebrating Birth Mothers

“Because of the courage of my birth mom, I’m able to be all the things I am today.”

These are the words of Ryan Bomberger, whose birth mother courageously placed him for adoption decades ago. The nobility of birth mothers, like Ryan’s, is one of the most beautiful illustrations of how love saves lives.

Today Ryan is a brother, husband, father, and an inspiring pro-life activist. The self-sacrificial love of his birth mother saved his life, and impacted so many others.

>>>> Watch Ryan share more about his story at the March for Life Conference.

Countless lives and even society and culture itself are impacted because of the courage of birth mothers. For example, did you know that Steve Jobs, founder of Apple Computers, was adopted as infant?

Birth mother and adoption advocate Callie Jett describes the mindset of birth moms beautifully in a March for Life guest blog post entitled “What You Really Need to Know About Birth Moms on Birth Mother’s Day,”

“As a birth mom of fourteen years myself, there’s no doubt that adoption is a choice that is difficult and selfless. We have made this choice out of love for our child, not out of abandonment. We place the needs of our child before our own wants or desires. Ultimately, birth moms have an amazing way of looking towards the future, and not so much at their past.”

>>>> Watch Callie share more about adoption at the March for Life Conference.

Adoption is a noble and heroic decision. Each year, there are over 18,000 domestic infant adoptions in the United States. Sadly, there are also each year over 1 million abortions in the U.S.

Will you join us in working towards ending abortion and promoting adoption?

This weekend is Birth Mother’s Day on Saturday, May 12. We celebrate all of the birth mothers who have made the courageous decision to choose life and to place their child for adoption. Adoption is a heroic choice and your self-sacrificial love is to be commended and celebrated!

Birth mothers from across the country have joined us by sharing their words of gratitude and encouragement to fellow birth mothers, as well as encouragement to any woman considering adoption.

Watch and share as we honor the life-saving love of birth mothers!

Celebrating adoption and birth-mothers is at the core of “why we march” each January at the March for Life, and throughout the year!

March for Life Statement on Iowa Heartbeat Bill

“March for Life applauds Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds for signing into law a bill that will make it illegal to abort a baby who has developed to the point of a detectable heartbeat. This law will not only save lives, it also reminds us that abortion stops a beating heart. We thank Iowa for recognizing that every life is a gift and that personhood has inherent dignity from the moment of conception.”

Title X Funding and Pro-Life Action

Are you fed-up with your hard-earned tax dollars being used to subsidize abortion providers, like Planned Parenthood?

We are too, and we were incredibly disappointed that Congress failed to defund Planned Parenthood in its Omnibus Spending bill last month. (You can still send a message of disappointment to your lawmakers HERE.)

But that doesn’t mean we’re giving up our efforts to end taxpayer funding of abortion.

Title X is a major source of federal funding for Planned Parenthood, and we are joining with pro-life Members of Congress who are urging the Department of Health and Human Services to ban organizations that refer for abortion from Title X funding.

This move by HHS could block a major source of government dollars to Planned Parenthood.

Take action today and urge HHS Secretary Alex Azar to restrict Title X funding from organizations that refer for abortions, like Planned Parenthood.

If you need any additional background on Planned Parenthood:

  • Planned Parenthood is currently under investigation by the Department of Justice for the trafficking of fetal tissue.
  • In 2016, the last year data is available, Planned Parenthood committed 321,384 abortions and received over half a billion dollars in government funds.
  • Since 2006, under the helm of Cecile Richards, Planned Parenthood has received over 5.3 billion dollars in federal money and committed 3,547,123 abortions.

p.s. You can read more about Planned Parenthood’s radical abortion advocacy in Jeanne Mancini’s latest op-eds HERE.

Ending taxpayer funding of abortion is not only the right thing to do, it’s also supported by a large majority of Americans.

Please add your voice to this important message to HHS Secretary Azar to take action to restrict federal tax dollars from flowing to organizations like Planned Parenthood.

Thank you for raising your voice and spreading the truth. Be sure to also check out this opportunity in your local communities to join the 3rd annual National Day of Prayer and Protest Against Planned Parenthood. The nationwide event will be held on Saturday, April 28. Click HERE for more information.

March for Life Action Statement on Judge Chutkan’s Decision

“Judge Chutkan’s decision to side with the radical agenda of the American Civil Liberties Union and compel government officials to facilitate abortion for women who have entered the United States illegally is tragic for everyone involved. It is the duty of the government to protect all the refugees under their care, both born and unborn – rather than compound the violence they are fleeing. The ACLU is not acting in the best interests of women who came here illegally and it is wrong of Judge Chutkan to force the allocation of government resources towards promoting such a pro-abortion organization. We hope this disastrous decision is quickly overturned.”

On Cecile’s Book Tour

3,547,123.

That is the number of abortions committed at Planned Parenthood since 2006, when Cecile Richards became President of the organization.

Richards recently announced her retirement from Planned Parenthood and subsequently released her memoir, entitled “Make Trouble.”

Not surprisingly, she doesn’t mention the millions of babies lives snuffed out at the hands of Planned Parenthood during her tenure. Instead, she claims that the radical pro-abortion views of Planned Parenthood are taking hold in our country.

But Cecile is wrong.

In an op-ed for FoxNews.com, March for Life President Jeanne Mancini argues that a culture of life is taking hold in the U.S. She cites 10 years of public opinion polling by Marist which show that Americans consistently support significant restrictions on abortion. She writes:

“Americans’ continued support for restrictions on abortion show that, despite Cecile Richards’s best efforts and deep pockets, pro-choice activism is not “transforming the culture.” Love is winning.”

In another op-ed for the Washington Examiner about Richards’ book and the abuses of Planned Parenthood, Mancini concludes, “The consensus in America is against abortion, and for major rollbacks on abortion access – not for the “abortion extremism” that Planned Parenthood represents.”

As Jeanne concludes in her FoxNews.com piece,

“Our movement shows that love doesn’t just save lives, it transforms them. That’s why year after year, thousands of Americans march—rain, sleet, snow or shine—to protest the violence of abortion and in support of life-affirming alternatives.  We will continue to do so until abortion is unthinkable.”

Thank you for being part of this movement!
