First Official State March in the Nation Since the Overturn of Roe v Wade
HARRISBURG, PA – Today the March for Life, partnered with the Pennsylvania Family Institute, announced the second official Pennsylvania March for Life on Monday, September 19. For the first time since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Marchers will gather at the front steps of the State Capitol Building in Harrisburg to celebrate their ability to protect the unborn through legislation passed by their elected state representatives. Notable guests and speakers will include: Jeanne Mancini, President of the March for Life; Michael Geer, President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Family Institute; Ann McElhinney, Producer and Co-Writer of the film “Gosnell- The Untold Story of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” and author of the corresponding book; Pennsylvania State Senate Majority Leader Kim Ward; Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Bryan Cutler; Dr. Monique Ruberu, pro-life OBGYN; Kathy Barnette, U.S. Veteran, author, and former Senate Candidate; Amy Scheuring, Executive Director of Women’s Choice Network; Pennsylvania State Senator Judy Ward; the Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia; and Pastor Charles Stock of Life Center Ministries.
“The March for Life, along with the Pennsylvania Family Institute, is delighted to welcome pro-life Pennsylvanians and our outstanding speakers to the second annual Pennsylvania March for Life, where we will advocate for state laws that respect the human dignity of every person, born and unborn,” said Jeanne Mancini, President of March for Life Defense and Education Fund. “Every voice counts all the more in this historic new phase of the pro-life movement. The people of Pennsylvania and the state legislature will surely witness the devotion and love that motivate their pro-life constituents, and the state’s enthusiasm for a post-Roe America.”
“Just like last year’s historic rally and march, this second annual Pennsylvania March for Life will be a bold and joyful event, as families and individuals, young and old, and from throughout our great state make their voice heard and their presence known on behalf of the unborn and their moms,” said Michael Geer, President of Pennsylvania Family Institute. “As we rally and march at our beautiful State Capitol, we are a witness to the worth and dignity of every human being, deserving of our love and protection from conception until natural death. And we are grateful for an excellent lineup of speakers, including those representing organizations that provide quality care and compassion for women in unexpected pregnancies.”
The Pennsylvania March for Life will start with a rally at the Harrisburg Capitol Building at 11:00 a.m. EST, followed by a march at 12:00 p.m. EST.
