Making Gosnell a Household Name
How many Americans recognize the faces and names of notorious murderers?
How many Americans recognize the face and/or name of abortionist Kermit Gosnell?
See for yourself:
Filmmakers Phelim and Ann McAleer are seeking to change that (Phelim conducted the “man-on-the-street interviews above). They recently announced a historic crowdfunding campaign to raise the capital to produce a movie on “America’s biggest serial killer, abortionist Kermit Gosnell and the media cover-up.”
For those who are unfamiliar with crowd-funding, it’s the process by which individual supporters can donate to a project to see it to fruition, similar to donating to a political campaign or non-profit organization. So whether you can donate $1, $100 or $1000, you too can provide financial support to make this movie happen, and to get the truth out to the world about the evil deeds of Kermit Gosnell.
On Tuesday, April 22nd, Phelim joined a Bloggers Briefing at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. to talk about the project and provide an update on funding. Interestingly, while he and his wife are now in the filmmaking business, Phelim started out his career as a crime reporter in North Ireland. That background led him to a court room in Philadelphia last year to check out the trial of abortionist Gosnell.
McAleer was completely shocked that the courtroom was virtually empty, and the story was nearly devoid of coverage, except for pro-lifers.
That’s the motivation behind this campaign and film – to make Gosnell a household name. Social media helped during the trial last year, but there is still widespread ignorance of the story. By donating to the Gosnell Movie, and encouraging your friends and family to do, you can play a small part in bringing this story to national attention.
More importantly – when people are confronted with the reality of post-birth, partial-birth, and late term abortion, they are forced to grapple with the evil of abortion. The McAleer’s story exposing Gosnell will do just that, and thus the film could be very influential in impacting our culture for life.
