Legacy of Representative Pitts will be the Example he Set for All Members of Congress |

Washington, D.C – On Friday morning, it was announced that Congressman Joe Pitts (R-PA) would be retiring after a sterling twenty years serving his district and the country. Congressman Pitts has been a staunch pro-life leader and set an example for all members of Congress, and Jeanne Mancini, President of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, praised the leadership he provided on behalf of the pro-life movement. “The pro-life movement will be losing a true leader in Congress with the retirement of Representative Joe Pitts,” said Mrs. Mancini. “We praise his Leadership as head of the Values Action Team, a coalition of pro-family Members, and as Chair of the Health Subcommittee in Energy and Commerce. However it is the example he set for other Members of Congress that will be his true legacy. “ The March for Life in Washington, D.C., began as a small demonstration on January 22, 1974, the first anniversary of the now-infamous Supreme Court decisions in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton and rapidly grew to be the largest pro-life event in the world. The peaceful demonstration that has followed on this somber anniversary every year since is a witness to the truth concerning the greatest human rights violation of our time, abortion. Jeanne Mancini, President of March for Life Education and Defense Fund, is available for interviews.
